RESEARCH

 

SIPRD concentrates mainly on diagnostic and applied research programmes focusing on various rural problems and activities of the Panchayats. Twenty have been conducted in the research mode during the last five years. Among them six research projects were completed during the year 2008. Those were assigned to the institute by the WBSRDA and funded by DFID assisted project. In 2009 a study entrusted by the Work Bank on the decentralization of Public Health was completed. Two research projects in collaboration with NIRD have been taken up and completed in 2009-2010. It has been envisioned that 5 projects in research mode and 5 projects in action research mode would be conducted in the next five years. The subjects of the research and the status of the projects are shown in the following table:
