Aim :

Education is a social parameter , the immediate result of which cannot be realized by the stakeholders . The fruits can not be seen directly as infrastructural development. Thus most of the PRI functionaries are less interested about the development of education rather than that of others. But education is the main index of the Human Resource Development. Thus it is very much necessary for the PRI members to realize the importance of education towards the development of the country. Not only that, field of education is also gendered subject. Most of the women have no access towards the education. Thus after the 10 years of National Education Policy, still there is a poor rate of female literacy in our state. Still there are 4612 backward village have been identified on the basis of female literacy as one of the components. Thus education cell of SIPRD aims at the motivating the PRI members who are the right person to reach the fruits of education at the doorstep of the rural people.

Objectives of the Cell:

• Imparting the training on the importance and concept of the education , probabilities and Constraints of the Expansion of education.
• Special Motivational Training programme on duties and responsibilities of PRIs towards the expansion of Education .
• Collection of Cases on best practices on education
• Preparation of special field based training material ( Video-clippings, interviews of the stakeholders etc )
• Preparation of books on education
• Preparation of manual of meetings and agendas done by the Karmadhyakshas.
• Monitoring the performance of the Karmadhyakshas and reporting to the Sishu Siksha Mission.

Performance:

Training completed for 18 Zilla Parishad Karmadhyakshas of “Siksha , Sanskriti, Tathya O Krida Sthayee Samiti “.

• Training Completed for 341 Panchayat Samiti Karmadhyakshas of “Siksha , Sanskriti, Tathya O Krida Sthayee Samiti “.
• Field Monitoring for “Siksha , Sanskriti, Tathya O Krida Sthayee Samiti “ in few blocks in the district of Jalpaiguri and South 24 Parganas
• Workshop on “Sakshar Bharat”
• Workshop on “ Right to Education “.
• Collaborative Workshop between SIPRD , Jadavpur University and University of Mcgrawhill
on “Women and Education”
