 Objectives:
This cell deals with all Public Health matters related to Total Immunisation, Safe Delivery, Nutrition, Disease Control, Sanitation and Safe drinking water supply. This cell looks after all activities for capacity building of the different officials and panchayat bodies for discharging their responsibilities related to public health and issues related to preventive and promotive health care including running of dispensaries by the Gram Panchayats with the support of the Health & Family Welfare Department.

Clientele
The three tiers of the PRIs along with the members of the GUSs and Self Help Groups and also the government officials associated with this programme are sensitized and oriented through intensive training. District Level Trainers Team (DLTT) comprising of government officials, PRI members, retired government officials and former members of the PRIs including functionaries like Karmadhakshya and Secretaries of Zilla Parishads are trained by the state level trainers.
Actors involved with Community Health Care Management Initiatives (CHCMI) are given more emphasis in the process of training.

IMPARTING COURSES ON HEALTH ISSUES IN DIFFERENT TRAINING PROGRAMMES AT SIPRD :
SIPRD in general organized different types of training courses where health acts as a crosscutting issue. Health Cell organizes and coordinates District Level Trainers Team Programme on CHCMI at SIPRD including field trips to different project areas. This Cell took part in delivering health related courses according to the need of the different training and Training of Trainers methodology was also catered as additional input.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES:
The cell has formulated its future course of action based on the situational analysis and the demands emerged from its several stakeholders. These are as below
- Follow-up courses for the trained Karmadhakshyas of Janaswastha O Paribesh Sthayee Samiti.
- Separate training on Health for Shiliguri Mahakuma Parishad.
- Organisation of orientation and sensitisation workshops on HIV AIDS for stakeholders at different levels
- Training on First Aids for Leaders of SHG clusters and Federation, PRI members and NGOs.
- Workshops for defining Convergence Mechanism for health programmes at grass root level
